This was written for the 10.30 service at Tilehurst Methodist Church on October 13th 2019, which was Junior Church Anniversary Sunday. The "JCBs" (Junior Church Band) were playing, and we've often played Reach as an exit volutary... we thought it would be good to be able to have lyrics so we could sing it as part of the service.
1. Summer sun, or a snowy storm,
Autumn gold and brown, or the first day of spring.
Rolling hills, crashing waves on sand,
Busy streets and towns, or a comfy sofa.
God made all that we treasure,
All things, now and forever.
Never ever forget that
We've got God and God's got us, so...
Chorus
Reach for the Lord!
The one who made and loves us,
Reach for the Lord!
Who smiles and finds and saves us,
Reach for the Lord!
And when we're following God's gracious will,
That's when we'll find our hearts are full.
2. When we're down, feeling left behind,
When life gets too much, or it seems so empty.
Trust in one who is always kind,
Who has walked this earth, and who feels our sadness.
Jesus always is there
Ready to hear our prayer,
Never ever forget that
We've got God and God's got us, so...
Chorus
3. Look around, see God's handiwork,
Made in perfect love, but through greed now broken,
Feel God's pain, and the will to heal,
To restore the world, through the Spirit's power.
Our lives offered in service,
God's love active within us,
Never ever forget that
We've got God and God's got us, so...
Chorus
